Single-frequency optically pumped semiconductor vertical external cavity laser at 852nm for Cs atomic clock

Abstract

Using an extremely compact optically-pumped semiconductor vertical external-cavity surface-emitting laser we have demonstrated more than 100mW in single frequency operation at 852.1nm as a solution for Cs atom spectroscopy.
